Reminders of the importance of self kindness littered throughout the days. I notice beliefs that can strangle, or those that can set me free. Grateful to be surrounding myself with people that orient me towards an expressive life.
And for the strength to summon up my own belief in myself - when the wind has left my sails.
February wonders, “What are you devoted to?”
When I am wise, I answer: self compassion.
Can I be in the act of creation without a sense of urgency, or having to prove a thing? Can I use the presence of beauty as a way to combat the chaos and heartbreak of this world?
White covered fields are now slowly thawing to reveal the canvas of what is yet to grow.
When the a new landscape reappears, what will you see? The growth? The absence of what is yet to come? Or the effort of nature to nurture life amidst the plenty of uncertainties in this world?
We are all products of February.
What are we becoming?

DON’T HESITATE
By Mary Oliver
“If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happens better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.”
